mmmm, books.
I picked up 10 books at the library today and am so excited. I go through cycles where I read a ton and then not so much, and I am on the upswing (my favorite part!). Wish me luck sleeping tonight.

uh...
I just replied to a wall post from Facebook via email (a feature which I enjoy). Hotmail asked me if I wanted to save the following address:

I don't think that will be necessary, but thanks.

on the one hand
One nice aspect of apartment living is that someone else does the maintenance. On the other hand, if I were the one cleaning off the porch, I'd use a broom. The leaf blower + breezeway = really noisy echo-y baby waking nightmare. Grrr. Besides, I was just out there this morning. I happen to know that it wasn't even dirty. Seeing as we live on the 3rd floor, there weren't even any leaves!

yummy
It's really that good.
I wonder if I could use Stephanie's peanut butter frosting recipe with the same technique and make THE WORLD'S GREATEST FROSTING!?

R.I.P.
This morning, Ort died and OranGE rose in its place. He was so proud of himself that he said it 3 or 4 more times (or was it because he was asking for an orange gummy vitamin?). Other recent deaths have been trut (now truck), and night night (now goodnight).
Don't worry. He recently started calling my mom "Malm", and saying "Bye bye heehaw (supposed to be "sweetheart") so there are plenty of opportunities still to barely understand him.

a dental question
Apparently, I am supposed to be flossing Jonah's teeth. How?
Yes, yes, I read an article from the ADA, but it only explained how to floss properly, not how to convince a child to open his mouth long enough for said flossing to occur. As it is now, it's a two-man job around here most nights (Jonah will open his mouth if Josh hangs him upside down) just to get them brushed.

Happy Easter
So I made the cinnamon rolls Kayla & Shante suggested. They were amazing. I made a test batch before making them for Easter breakfast and they were even better today. The dough is flaky (think canned biscuits without the fake taste) and light. Mmm. If you're going to try them, I made a few minor changes I'd recommend:
I wish we had some Easter traditions. I heard someone say they were glad Easter is not as commercialized as Christmas. I think it's worse! Sure, you don't have Easter decorations in the stores 4 months in advance, but you also don't see anything other than candy and bunnies. I'd like some really great Easter ideas. What do other families out there do?
- When it says "DON'T OVER BAKE!" I panicked and pulled them out right when they started to get golden and the resulting rolls were doughy. This time I baked them until they were light brown all over (like what I'd normally do) and they were perfect.
- My mom taught me to make cinnamon rolls in a pie tin. You get more even baking and fewer doughy centers than if you use a cookie sheet. This recipe filled 6 pie tins.
- My filling was 1/2 brown and 1/2 white sugar (I tried both and liked this better).
- We used less than half the frosting and it was still a lot. These rolls are pretty sweet on their own and don't need much frosting.
- We added walnuts. Mmm.
